Dharshani Lakmali Jayasinghe is a Visiting Ph.D. Scholar at the Institute for Comparative Literature and Society at Columbia University. She is also currently a Teaching Fellow at the City College of New York where she teaches French. Lakmali has taught English and French language and literature for 13 years and her previous teaching experiences include teaching at Stanford University and the Alliance Française. Lakmali is a former Fulbright Fellow, an Endeavour Fellow and the recipient of several fellowships and awards from Stanford University and the University of California, Berkeley. She is a Ph.D. candidate from the Department of Comparative Literature at Stanford University and her current research focuses on questions of exile and home in select English, French, Spanish and Korean literary and filmic texts of the 20th century.
