Montana Ray studies translation theory, transpositions from analogue to digital culture, performance art, sexuality, and sex work. She loves teaching and has recently instructed writing workshops at Georgetown University, Sarah Lawrence, and the Poetry Project. She’s currently researching Kusama Orgy, Yayoi Kusama’s NYC pornography publication, and translating, Loco Afán (Crazy Desire), the collection of chronicles by Pedro Lemebel about his community las locas, sex workers and performance artists living in Santiago during the AIDS epidemic. Ray is the author of the concrete poem collection (guns & butter), which is available from Argos Books, who also published her translations of Francisca Aguirre, The Other Music: Selected Poems from the 1970s. She is the mom of gaming enthusiast Amadeus.
