Anupama Rao features in Columbia Journal of Asia’s new faculty interview series

December 9, 2024 – Topics of Interest

ICLS Director Anupama Rao is the first interview in the Columbia Journal of Asia’s new interview series. They launched the series with a discussion with Professor Rao on her course on Race, Caste, and the University. The conversation covers the topic of critical pedagogy through (re)locating Ambedkar in the archives. She illuminates new ways to understand Indian/U.S intellectual interactions by contextualizing the time and geography that thinkers were influenced by. Through Ambedkar, she channels the larger question about the archive and its institutional aspect: what stories are told and according to what narrative? Read the full interview here!
