A workshop organized by the Literary Cultures in Conversation group, open to ICLS students and faculty, devoted to the following set of short texts.•Tao Qian, “Peach Blossom Spring” (early 5th century CE)•June Jordan, “Skyrise for Harlem” (1965)•Ernst Bloch, “The World in Which Utopian Imagination Has a Correlate Real Possibility,” from The Principle of Hope (1938-1947)•”Something’s Missing: A Discussion between Ernst Bloch and Theodor W. Adorno on the Contradictions of Utopian Longing” (1964)Brief presentations by Claudia Breger, Peter Chen, and David Lurie will be followed by open discussion. All ICLS affiliates are welcome.
