A cross-disciplinary and transnational inquiry into memory politics in the contemporary world. Topics include the relation between history and public memory, transitional justice, media of memory (photography, film, graphic novels, monuments, and memorials) and human rights.

This course is only open to advanced undergraduates. An application is required.  Please send the following information to clasota@columbia.edu no later than November 7, 2013. Students will be  notified of application decisions during early registration week: year and major, relevant courses taken, and interest in the course.
