Columbia Global Centers | Mumbai invites you to a conversation with Dr. Rishi Goyal, Emergency Medicine physician, literary scholar, and Director of the Medicine, Literature and Society program at Columbia University and novelist, artist and Onassis award winning playwright of Harvest, Manjula Padmanabhan.

Rishi Goyal, MD, PhD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine (in Medical Humanities and Ethics and The Institute for Comparative Literature and Society) at Columbia University where he is the Director of the Medicine, Literature and Society Major track.  He is also an Adjunct Associate Professor of Humanities at the University of Southern Denmark.

Manjula Padmanabhan is an author, playwright and cartoonist. Her play Harvest won the 1997 Onassis Award for Theatre. Her weekly comic strip Sukiyaki appears in The Business Line, in Chennai, India. Her two most recent novels, Escape and The Island Of Lost Girls, are set in a brutal future world. She lives in the US, with a home in New Delhi.
