Felix Ensslin holds the chair in Aesthetics, Art Mediation, and sychoanalytic Cultural Studies at the State Academy of Fine Arts, Stuttgart, in Germany. He curates contemporary art (a.o. at ZKM, Karlsruhe; Perry Rubenstein Gallery, New York; and KW-Institute for Contemporary Art Berlin) and has worked as dramaturgist and director a.o. at the German National Theatre in Weimar. He is founding member of the group “pli-Psychoanalysis after Lacan in Munich, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Paris” and, with Marcus Coelen, editor of the series “Subjektile” at Diaphanes Publishers Berlin. Its most recent publication is “Beyond Potentialities” (ed. Frank Ruda) which is the second book in the series published in English. He has written on art, theory of the subject, secularization and Protestantism. His edited books include, Spieltrieb. Was bringt die Klassik auf die Bühne?, Theater der Zeit, 2006; Between Two Deaths (ed. with Ellen Blumenstein), Hatje Cantz 2007.
