Luca Abbattista

Luca Abbattista is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Italian at Columbia University. He graduated summa cum laude in “Lettere” (B.A.) and “Filologia moderna” (M.A.) from the University of Bari. In the 2018 his masters thesis entitled Gli autori francesi nel «Candido» di Leonardo Sciascia, has been shortlisted for the Giovanni Testori Prize. In 2019 he became a recipient of a Fulbright grant.
He has published articles in Lettera Zero on “hyper-contemporary” Italian literature on authors such as Michele Mari and Demetrio Paolin. His interests include Modern and Contemporary Italian literature, French libertine novels, Freudian theories of literature, Francesco Orlando and Ignacio Matte Blanco.
