Arden Hegele and Rishi Goyal Publish New Book: Culture and Medicine – Critical Readings in the Health and Medical Humanities
Dr. Rishi Goyal and Dr. Arden Hegele are thrilled to announce the publication of their new book, Culture and Medicine: Critical Readings in the Health and Medical Humanities, just released from Bloomsbury.
The book features eleven chapters and an afterword by a wonderful group of writers who represent disciplines as diverse as early modern literature, medical anthropology, and emergency medicine. In the critical introduction, they engage with the question of how biomedical knowledge is constructed, negotiated, and circulated as a cultural practice.
They shared the following information about the writing process and an upcoming book launch:
“We owe a debt of gratitude to the friends and colleagues who have supported our work and shared their insights over many years.
We are also excited to announce that we will host a virtual book launch event at Columbia University early in the New Year, which will feature the authors of the chapters in conversation. We will keep you updated.”
