Edwards, with co-writer Henry Threadgill, is a winner of the 2024 PEN Oakland Josephine Miles Award for Easily Slip into Another World: A Life in Music. Edwards also was awarded a Special Recognition for the 2024 ASCAP Foundation Deems Taylor/Virgil Tomson Award in pop music.
