October 6, 2020 – Achievements

Chair of African American and African Diaspora Studies and Professor of English Farah Jasmine Griffin was interviewed in USA Today and on NPR’s Code Switch, discussing and highlighting key works and authors of the African American literary canon.

Professor Griffin was also named as one of two recipients of the Society of Columbia Graduates’ 2020 Great Teacher Award.

Established in 1949, the award is given annually to one or more Columbia College and Columbia Engineering professors based on their abilities to stimulate, challenge, and inspire undergraduate students; their demonstrated interest in students and their ability to relate positively to students outside the classroom; and their recognized standing in their respective academic disciplines.

Congratulations Professor Griffin from all of us at ICLS!
