Haruo Shirane wins the 26th Yamagata Banto Prize

Shirane has been awarded the 26th Yamagata Banto Prize for his book Japan and the Culture of the Four Seasons: Nature, Literature, and the Arts. The prize was given for his contributions to “deepening the understanding of Japanese culture in a global context.”
