Anthropologist Mahmood Mamdani delivered recent keynotes at the UVA conference, “Religion and Democracy on the African Continent: Colonial Legacies and Postcolonial Possibilities,” the St Antony’s College, Oxford conference, “Expulsion: Uganda’s Asians and the Remaking of Nationality,” and the McGill conference, “Transcending Settler Colonialism: Decolonization, Reconciliation, and Transformation.”
