Anthropologist Mahmood Mamdani was one of three finalists for the Professional and Scholarly Excellence (PROSE) Awards in the category World History. The award, given by the Association of American Publishers, acknowledges Professor Mamdani’s latest book, Neither Settler nor Native: The Making and Unmaking of Permanent Minorities.
