Anthropologist Marilyn J. Ivy published an article entitled “This is (Not) a Gallows” in the most recent Editor’s Forum of the journal Cultural Anthropology. Professor Ivy’s piece discusses fascism and the January 6 riot with particular consideration given to fascist inversions of a functioning gallows structure as art.
