In order to celebrate the publication of Alain Badiou’s major new work The Immanence of Truths (L’Immanence des vérités, Paris: Fayard, 2018), a graduate student workshops will be organized at Columbia University. The workshops be a unique presentation Badiou’s new book in English language (Professor Kenneth Reinhard agreed to provide excerpts from his and Susan Spitzer’s English translation of the book scheduled for publication in Bloomsbury.) The workshop will include short introductory talks discussing different aspects of The Immanence of Truths by Alain Badiou, two interlocutors followed by a discussion with students.

To apply for the workshops, please send your name, departmental affiliation, and a brief description of your research interests and particular interest in Alain Badiou’s work. Please state also your language proficiency. (The workshops will be held in English, but French proficiency is preferred.)

Selected participants will be notified by November 1st, 2019.
